About Marsha Maung
I am a freelance writer, graphic designer, mother and the occassional singer who has been doing my thing for the past 8 years (and counting). I live in Selangor, Malaysia and have 2 beautiful kids, Joshua (7) and Jared (5).
I UPDATE my site almost EVERYDAY! So, please do COME BACK for more!
I love having people visit this freelance writing website of mine because of all the business, marketing, online promotion and article writing articles that I religiously post on this website but did you know that I have posted a lot of other articles as well....and have also written a lot of articles and web content on life, motherhood, blogging and other women-related articles as well?
If you don't, you do now! :-)
Click here to go to all the updates. If not, SCROLL DOWN!
Please do bookmark this simple yet informative freelance writer's website and come back for more in the future. For drying of dirty linen and other stuff on my personal life (that sometimes I grudgingly reveal), visit my blog instead!
FINALLY! Finally....I've finally released a fiction book, something that I've always wanted to do. Fiction....not factual! Amazing....for those of you who knows me will know that I've put up with writing factual stuff for so long and the yearning to write and release something actually 'untrue' has become a longing so strong it is mind-numbing! Out of a single conversation (argument) with a 12-year-old 'friend' of mine, 'Imperfect' is now officially released under Lulu.com self-publishing engine! 'Imperfect' is about the strained relationship between a girl with her mother and her mother's mother. It sounds a whole lot like any other memoirs or stories. Whilst this story is not based on my life, it is 'true' to a certain extent but with many parts of it exagerated and dramatized to make it more interesting!
Do me a favor, please check out my humble short story here and provide me feedback if any. For a short preview of the book, click here.

"FREELANCE WRITER FOR HIRE"
My focus as a freelance writer is on helping you promote your site to search engines via my keyword-rich articles. As a freelance writer of eight years and counting, I relish the fact that the stuff that I write help my clients get better ranking or convert their traffic into sales. Persuasive content writing for the web is actually tough, if you look at it. I've always believed that writing for the web is a lot like yoga. It's a balancing act between pleasing the search engines and pleasing the readers.
"Why am I different compared to other writers? Endearing...that's the word"
On top of being totally and completely dedicated to my work in helping my clients achieve their goals and targets, as a freelance writer, I have a distinct style in writing. Although I can whip up a business letter just as fast as I can completely a screen play (although writing a screenplay is generally faster when you talk about NUMBER OF PAGES), my writing style is very personal. This sells very well with Internet marketers or online businesses because people who read on the Internet like to be able to 'feel' with whatever they're reading.
The Internet's already filled to the brim with writers of all sorts....writers who think that the ability to string a couple of words together without making too many mistakes is good enough a career...and writers who charge tiny invoices for a truckload of services....they're all there.
And that, sadly, is what has corrupted the freelance writing industry of ...well, the world.
"Tap, tap, tap....into my well of experience as a freelance writer"
I have extensive experience in writing web content, articles on specific topics, business reports, search engine marketing materials, META tags for websites, articles for magazines, reviews, short stories, ghost written tons of SEO articles, screen plays, radio ads, advertisement copy...etc.
"A WRITING STYLE THAT SPEAKS TO THE READERS....that's what you need and that is what I can do"
Before I write something, I make it a habit to ask the client what he/she wants to say to the readers. This way, when I write the stuff, I can get a good feel of where he/she is coming from.
Then when I sit down to write the copy or web content or blog entry for the client, I will literally imagine myself in his/her position. This way, the way I communicate with the readers through the stuff that I write becomes very direct and personal. It hits the bull's eye.
"Articles from your freelance writer should be balanced "
The articles written by your freelance writer should be interesting to the readers, enticing them, urging, pulling, persuade them that it's something they could use for their blogs, websites or other online publications and YET, at the same time, the writer needs to write in such a way that the search engines 'think' that the writer's article is GOLD! It's a very hard thing to do as a freelance writer and you'll see this for yourself if you've spent enough time writing for the web as I have.
There's another tough thing to figure out and that is how to KEEP the traffic. I mean, I write tons of stuff for my clients during my 'tenure' as their freelance writer. Some days, they get like ten thousand hits and then one fine day, things fall apart or worse yet....they fall off page 1 ranking in Google! Believe me, to some of my writing clients, this is worse than falling off the face of the earth! Therefore, my job as a freelance writer for them is.....CHALLENGING in a lot of ways! (And you thought working the share market or in the advertising industry is the toughest job in the world, huh?)

"I am not a cheap freelance writer for hire and dang if I'm not allowed to be proud of it"
I've always believed that when I am focusing on my freelance carer as a writer, I should always pay attention to quality. I used to write on freelance all those $1-worth articles everyday....I churn them as a freelance writer out as quick as McD churn out burgers and people just lap these articles up. But my focus as a freelance writer has changed. I want to focus on quality of the stuff that I create as a freelance writer. I want to focus on bringing interesting stuff to the readers, something they can read and just go WOW! So, if you want me on your bandwagon, be warned that I don't want to write non-sensical stuff and I don't want to be an article factory (which you can find a lot in GetAFreelancer...like the kind of freelance writer that I used to be. I outgrew that phase. I want to write important and intelligent articles that mean something to you and your readers. I want to be the kind of freelance writer that I can be proud of. I want originality. If you're looking for cheap freelance web content writers, look elsewhere because that's what I am NOT!
"Freelance writer with a friggin' attitude is good"
An attitude? Sure, I think I it's about time I got myself one of those. I don't have an attitude as a freelance writer, I don't, no, seriously, I don't. I believe in my work, I believe that I am a good freelance writer and I believe that this writer deserves to be paid for the kind of good work that she wants to deliver. I want to kick ass with my writing. I want I want I want! So there.
This freelance writer's developed an attitude.....not because she's proud that she's pretty good at what she does but it's because she's tired of being manipulated. I believe that in order to be good at what you do....whether you're a budding freelance writer or a novice golfer, it's important to have an opinion and attitude. The mental factor. If I bend on the quality of the work I churn out as a freelance writer, I am compromising your expectations of me.
I. DON'T. WANT. TO. DO. THAT. PERIOD.
